Great photographs of Block Island ’s remaining and once great hotels. This book is thoroughly researched. It is amazing how huge and ornate these classic buildings were. Sadly, so many of them were destroyed by fire or hurricane.

Livermore's History of Block Island
Written by: Reverend S.T. LivermoreThe definitive history of Block Island from 1514-1876. This book is published by the Block Island Historical Society. No pictures, but chock full of facts and island lore. Eighty-five years after Reverend Livermore wrote his history an afterward was added at the time of Block Island’s Tricentenary in 1961. Nathan Tuft, its author quickly goes through some remarkable changes that occurred between 1877 and 1961.
